CNY Inspirations: The grief train

This feature is coordinated by The Post-Standard, Syracuse.com and InterFaith Works of CNY. Follow this theme and author posted Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
I used to always know what to say to make someone feel better, but then grief happened. Unbearable, meet unfixable.
That is the hardest part, not only missing the people you lost, but not being able to help someone else who is grieving too. You just know they have boarded the same awful train you are riding on, every day until the day you die. There is no magic button to press off the bad days. It is unfortunate. I know. I am all choo-choo and boo-hoo over here. Nevertheless, that is the reality. We do not talk enough about it after the funeral. The forever.
The casseroles were delicious, but don’t stop there; it only takes a second to text someone to show love or check on them. Don’t stop. Because their pain hasn’t. If you are not on this train yet – it is not if, it is when. So, love them up and celebrate them while they are here. All aboard.
